Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that his meetings with the head of NATO, European leaders and representatives of the United Kingdom in Brussels are a good opportunity to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine "for today and for tomorrow".
According to foreign media, the Ukrainian President said it was very important on his two-day trip to meet Ukraine's partners and for them to come to a unified position on how to strengthen Ukraine as it fights Russian aggression.
Zelensky's statement comes after NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said he wants to put Ukraine in the strongest position possible for any peace talks with Russia.
In an earlier interview, Zelensky admitted that Ukrainian forces are unable to dislodge Russian troops from the land they have occupied in Crimea and the east of the country.
He said diplomacy was the only option left to force Moscow to withdraw its military, but vowed that Kiev would never recognize Russian rule. (A2 Televizion)
