Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the US agreement to facilitate Russian agricultural exports is a weakening of sanctions.
According to foreign media, the United States led broad sanctions efforts against Russia under President Joe Biden, including measures to limit its oil and gas revenues, such as a $60 per barrel cap on Russian oil exports.
Sources have told Reuters that the Trump administration has studied ways it could ease sanctions if Moscow agrees to end the war.
Today, as part of the Black Sea agreement, the White House said it would "help restore Russia's access to the world market for agricultural and fertilizer exports, reduce maritime insurance costs, and increase access to ports and payment systems for such transactions."
The Kremlin says this depends on the lifting of sanctions on financial organizations, ships, and companies that produce and export food and fertilizers, writes A2 CNN.
