At least 17 children have died in a fire at an Islamic school in northern Nigeria.
Sources said several other students were injured and rushed to health centres in Kauran Namoda town, Zamfara state.
The fire is believed to have started in a nearby house and spread to the school dormitory while the children, believed to be teenagers, were sleeping.
Local authorities and rescue teams went to the scene, but the flames had spread rapidly. (A2 Televizion)
