Amid the unstoppable wave of protests that are seriously threatening his regime, President Aleksandar Vučić hosted the son of US President Donald Trump Jr. in Belgrade. On social media, the Serbian leader, who has consistently supported Trump's policies, announced that he had had a cordial conversation with his eldest son. As he claims, the focus of the meeting was bilateral relations between Serbia and the United States, and current topics of political and economic importance in the world, writes A2 CNN.

“I emphasized the importance of economic and political relations between Serbia and the United States, and stressed the importance of strategic cooperation between the two countries and joint projects in the coming years. This meeting symbolizes the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and working together to address global challenges,” Vučić said. He said that after the conversation, he showed his guest the view of Belgrade from the terrace of the presidency.

Trump Jr. was in Belgrade in September 2024, when he met with a group of Serbian businessmen about potential investments. Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, also signed a business deal in Belgrade to build a hotel in the complex that once served as the headquarters of the General Staff.

Ahead of the meeting, Vučić called on all political actors in Serbia to avoid violence. On Monday evening, students blocked the entrance to the RTS building in Belgrade, where clashes broke out between police forces and protesters. (A2 Televizion)
