The Supreme Court of Kosovo rejected as unfounded the last two appeals regarding the electoral process. This paves the way for the certification of the results of the February 9 elections.
The Supreme Court rejected on Tuesday the appeals of the Vetevendosje Movement and the Ashkali Democratic Party.
"The two appeals received on March 21, 2025, one appeal from the Vetëvendosje Movement, filed against the ECAP decision, and one appeal from the PDAK-LPB Coalition, filed against the ECAP decision, have been rejected as unfounded," the court's official website states.
The Vetëvendosje Movement filed an appeal on March 21 at the Supreme Court against the ECAP decision that rejected their appeal for the cancellation of LDK's postal votes and their request for a postal re-vote, KosovaPress reports.
And the CEC spokesman, Valmir Elezi, told KosovaPress earlier that depending on the Supreme Court's decision, they will implement them if they have obligations for the CEC and then it will be able to proceed with the certification of the final election results.
Certification of the final results of the February 9 elections would pave the way for the legal deadlines for the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly to expire.
Based on the final results of the February 9 elections, the Vetëvendosje Movement came first with 42.30 percent of the votes, the Democratic Party of Kosovo 20.95 percent, the Democratic League of Kosovo 18.27 percent, and the AAK-Nisma coalition 7.06 percent.
Based on these figures, the Vetëvendosje Movement will have 48 MPs, PDK 24, LDK 20, AAK-Nisma 8, and non-majority communities 20 MPs.
According to the results, no party can form the government alone. /KosovaPress. (A2 Televizion)
