Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla and the Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, announced from the village of Banjë that today the last parallel institutions of Serbia in the territory of Kosovo have been closed.
"With joint action between the Ministry of Interior and the KP, as well as the Ministry of Interior and the MLGA, the era of parallel and criminal municipalities and institutions of Serbia in the Republic of Kosovo ends. Today, the parallel municipalities of Serbia in Lipjan, Obiliq, Pristina, Fushë Kosovë, Vushtrri, Novobërdë, Kamenicë, Viti, Rahovec, Skënderaj, as well as the illegal post office and tax office, have been closed," Sveçla announced in a Facebook post.
Sveçla underlines that as the Kurti government has pledged in the future, "no parallelism, let alone criminal parallelism, by Serbia will be allowed to violate the Constitution and legality" of Kosovo.
"Honorable citizens, from today the chapter of parallel, illegal institutions of Serbia in the Republic of Kosovo closes in Banja and everywhere in other parts of the Republic of Kosovo. Municipal facilities, post offices, tax offices, all remnants of parallel institutions end," said Sveçla in the video posted on social networks.
Meanwhile, Minister Krasniqi declared: "As of today, all 28 parallel, criminal municipalities of Serbia in Kosovo and their 5 districts are finally closed. As of today, these parallel institutions have no place in the Republic of Kosovo . " (A2 Televizion)
