The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo (MFJD) announced on Wednesday that it has successfully completed the evacuation of several Kosovo citizens from Israel during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel.
She said they left in the first week of the war through Jordan and Egypt, but did not say how many Kosovars were evacuated from Israel.
"The process was carried out in close coordination with the Israeli authorities and the embassies of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece and Egypt in Israel," the announcement said.
After 12 days of mutual bombing, Iran and Israel agreed on Monday to a ceasefire brokered by United States President Donald Trump.
The ceasefire is being implemented on Wednesday, a day after both sides declared victory on Tuesday after 12 days of war, in which the US intervened by carrying out bombing raids in support of Israel to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment facilities.
The MFA said it is closely following the case of a Kosovo citizen who is undergoing medical treatment at the Soroka Medical Center hospital in the city of Beersheba, which was the target of an attack during the short war.
"Fortunately, she was not present during the attack and is in good health. The Embassy of Kosovo in Israel is in constant contact with her family and is working to arrange their evacuation as soon as the appropriate conditions are created," the statement said.
Dozens of people were injured in the attack on the Beersheba hospital, which also suffered material damage.
The ministry stressed that another Kosovo citizen is now in the process of leaving Israel through Egypt, with the support of the Kosovo Embassy.
She said that, according to the latest data from the Kosovo Embassy in Israel, there are 13 other Kosovo citizens in Israeli territory, who so far have not expressed a desire to leave.
The ministry said that, given that "the security situation in Israel continues to deteriorate, it calls on all Kosovo citizens who are in this territory to show maximum caution and stay only in safe areas."/ REL (A2 Televizion)
