The Serbian Orthodox Church reacted sharply to claims by some media outlets that Patriarch Porfirije and Bishop of Bačka, Irinej, are negotiating the signing of a fundamental agreement between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the authorities in Pristina, calling them fabrications and slander.
As stated in the reaction, it is not difficult to recognize that this is fake news that has been spread according to the "catch the thief" principle.
"Those who invented and transmitted such slander against the Church want to further destabilize the Serbian people in Kosovo according to Kurti's interests," the Serbian Orthodox Church announced.
The statement further states that the issue of the legal status of the Serbian Orthodox Church is "the most complex political issue" of the negotiations on Kosovo...
"Universal human and religious rights and freedoms cannot be part of status negotiations and political agreements; they are implied and guaranteed by international legal acts," the statement stressed. (A2 Televizion)
