The Association of Journalists of Kosovo reacted to the warning of the ruling party, Vetëvendosje Movement, that it will boycott some of the television stations in Kosovo. According to the association, something like this goes against transparency and is an attempt to "undermine the role of journalists and the media" to hold it accountable "for its policies". In the statement, AGK expresses concern over the developments related to the launch of the campaign for the February 9 parliamentary elections.
"We invite the Vetëvendosje Movement to reconsider its position and offer the media equal access to the campaign", AGK said in response.
She requested that the media be enabled to equally present the programs of all entities participating in the February 9 elections.
"The announced boycott represents a deliberate attack on the media and is the continuation of a series of actions by this government and the Vetëvendosje Movement directed against journalists and media in Kosovo", AGK emphasized.
Civil society has criticized the Government of Kosovo, led by Albin Kurti, for its approach to the media. (A2 Televizion)
