The trial session for the murder of Liridona Ademaj was held at the Basic Court of Pristina in November 2023, during which the opening statements of all parties were heard. Also in this session, the defendants Naim Murseli, Granit Plava and Kushtrim Kokalla pleaded not guilty to the criminal offense they are charged with: murder and planning the murder of Liridona Ademaj.

The Basic Prosecution Office said they have sufficient evidence proving the involvement of the three defendants in her murder, while their defense stated that the evidence is mainly circumstantial.

Naim Murseli's defense, in today's session, requested that he undergo a psychiatric examination, a request that was approved by the trial panel. Once again, Murseli declared himself innocent, even saying that if the Prosecution manages to prove its claims, he himself will request life imprisonment for himself, writes A2 CNN.

"I plead not guilty and, as for the indictment, I just want to add that, if the Prosecutor's allegations are proven, I myself will seek life imprisonment," said Naim Murseli, accused of murder.

The lawyer for Liridona Ademaj's family burst into tears as he brought part of her children's testimony into the courtroom.

"I believe that before this court, an answer will be given to the question of Liridona's father: 'Why, Naim, were you able to get out of the car with the children, when Dona remained inside?', the children's question: 'Why did dad let the thief beat up mom?', the question of Liridona's mother: 'Why will I never see Liridona again?', Leonard's question: *'Why is Naim able to so calmly shout at the children that night', and a day later eat at 'Swiss Diamond' as if nothing had happened," said Leutrim Syla, lawyer for Liridona Ademaj's family.

In this case, the Swedish state report will also be used as evidence, which proves that in 2022, in the name of Liridona Ademaj, an insurance policy of 3 million Swedish kronor (about 260 thousand euros) was paid.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, on January 15, 2025, filed an indictment against Naim Murseli, Granit Plava, Kushtrim Kokalla and Tom Dodajt. The defendants are charged with the murder of Liridona Ademaj on November 29, 2023. According to the indictment, Murseli, Plava and Kokalla had agreed that the murder would be carried out by Granit Plava, with an agreement that her husband, Naim Murseli, would pay him the sum of 30 thousand euros.
