The Assembly failed to be constituted even in the 52nd attempt. The session was interrupted again at the voting point for the establishment of a committee to oversee the secret ballot.
The constitutional amendment that limited the deadline for the Assembly's decision-making to Saturday did not bring any change in the behavior of the 120 deputies, who remained loyal to the positions they have held since the beginning.
The leaders of the opposition parties until yesterday welcomed the measure of suspending the Constitution.
"Our wish has been for this to happen now, for there to be a verdict before the deadline expires, so that the deputies are clear about what the consequences or actions are, but it is within their right and we are waiting, hoping that it will be published before the 8th ," said Memli Krasniqi of PDK.
"We await the decision of the Constitutional Court, it is a good sign that the interim measure has been imposed. The Chairman has violated the Constitution and this is a subversion of the constitutional order. We expect a final decision of the Constitutional Court on our case by August 10 ," declared Lumir Abdixhiku of LDK.
"One Kosovo, one parliament, we are hostage to Kurti, if he has really changed his mind, and I believe he has really changed his mind, he will do worse and worse, he will continue to degrade the country, so the next elections are not an increase in the level of democracy, they are a despair of democracy," said Ramush Haradinaj of AAK.
On the other hand, the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Social Democratic Initiative are still not close to a political agreement.
"We have made the offer, but NISMA in this case would have to vote. So, the constitution of the Assembly, first of all, is the obligation of all deputies, not just ours or Nisma's, it is the obligation of all deputies. We have also had a political offer for the Social Democratic Initiative for governance ," declared Hekuran Murati from the Vetëvendosje Movement.
Limaj's party is not in favor of secret voting and says that Vetëvendosje, contrary to what it claims, does not have the numbers to govern.
"For me, the issue of electing the Speaker of the Assembly has never been a topic, but the main problem of this crisis is the lack of sufficient numbers for government. As long as there are not enough majority numbers for government, things have remained where they are today ," said Fatmir Limaj from Nisma.
Speaker Avni Dehari scheduled another session to constitute the Assembly for Saturday at 2:00 PM, which will be the last in the 30-day period set by the Constitution. (A2 Televizion)
