The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs has published a response to the media stating that France supports the European mediation aimed at normalizing relations between Kosovo and Serbia. As stated in the response, France demands that the negotiators and their teams be able to move freely and safely within the two countries, adding that they hope that Igor Popovic, as Petar Petkovic's deputy, will be released as soon as possible.
"France reiterates its support for European mediation in favor of the normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo. This requires that negotiators and their teams be able to move freely and safely within the two countries. France hopes that the Serbian deputy negotiator, Mr. Igor Popovic, will be released as soon as possible. France calls on both parties to refrain from any unilateral action that could harm the resumption of dialogue.
