Kosovo's acting Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci, in an exclusive interview for Ditar i Kosova, on A2 CNN, stated that no law prohibits the KSF from entering the north of the country.
"We are not prohibited by any law or document from the presence of the Security Force in the 4 northern municipalities. The operations of the KSF in the 4 northern municipalities are a commitment from 2013, made at that time by Hashim Thaçi. That commitment states that the KFOR commander will be communicated with in advance before any operation in the north. Despite the fact that we do not agree with that commitment at all, we will respect it, given that it is a commitment of one of our institutions to NATO. But, now even in the 4 northern municipalities the law and order situation has changed a lot, considering the presence of the Kosovo Police, our administration, and many criminal groups have been denied action," said Maqedonci.
"When we have a stable situation, the KSF does not operate. The KSF is for combat operations when the territorial integrity of the country is violated or for actions to save the lives of civilians," added Maqedonci.
