Political analysts believe that the Vetëvendosje Movement and the Social Democratic Initiative may reach a coalition during these days by the end of the 30-day deadline set by the Constitution for the constitution of the Assembly.
Albin Kurti and Fatmir Limaj have met several times so far but have not managed to concretize the agreement due to the position of speaker of parliament that Nisma insists on.
On Monday, Kurti said he had made a concrete offer to Limaj, giving him some time to decide.
"This coalition is more important to unblock the political situation, something like this could be possible with the Initiative and the minorities without the Serbian List, firstly it is in their interest since after July 26 they could be decertified as MPs and; secondly it could prevent the paralysis of institutional life in Kosovo", analyst Arbnor Sadiku told A2 CNN.
Analysts expect Limaj to agree to exchange the post of speaker of parliament for other positions in the executive cabinet.
"Limaj has also understood the political momentum that he plays with his political cards while he has the opportunity to play at the moment when there is a deadline. I think he is also ready to take on a ministry. This way, this government will not be very long-lived and he can ensure that in the next parliamentary elections he enters a coalition with Albin Kurti so that he is not penalized by the 5% electoral threshold," analyst Arbnor Sadiku told A2 CNN.
Regarding the longevity of a possible government between Vetëvendosje and Nisma, there are different opinions.
The new majority is expected to be fragile in terms of numbers, and early next year is the presidential election. Failure to vote for the new head of state brings down the government.
However, the president's calculations may change as the time approaches.
"If such a coalition is created, I see this coalition as long-lasting, despite the fact that it has 61 members, because no one will challenge it and it will be in the interest of both the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo to continue its life with the hope that the longer Mr. Kurti remains in power, the more he will make mistakes and return to their victory whenever the next elections are held," Afrim Kasolli, a political analyst, told A2 CNN.
