Political parties have not found a common language to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo. Although a consultative meeting was held with party representatives before the session, there was no agreement. The name of Albulena Haxhiu remains contested by the Democratic Party and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo. Both of these parties have left open the possibility of supporting another candidate.

"We would be willing to consider another candidacy. We are willing, let's not wait 48 hours because it is not mandatory to wait 48 hours. We would have the opportunity to meet tomorrow afternoon. Let them bring a candidate or candidates who could really be more acceptable to the opposition," said Memli Krasniqi, chairman of PDK.

"If Vetëvendosje does not find another solution, let's see how we move forward. But I think it would be in their interest to propose a unifying candidacy, even if this deadlock is overcome," said AAK leader Ramush Haradinaj.

The Democratic League of Kosovo has expressed the position that there will be no "for" votes, even if the proposal for speaker of parliament were Fatmir Limaj.

"Candidats certainly come as a result of political agreements. Normally, if LVV has political agreements with other political groups in the Assembly, then they get the votes of those political groups, while we do not have votes even for the coalition partners of the Vetëvendosje Movement," said Hykmete Bajrami, an LDK MP.

Vetëvendosje said that other parties cannot determine the names of candidates for Speaker of the Assembly, adding that this is done more to cause division within their entity.

"Our proposal is Albulena Haxhiu. If we start entering this circle of contesting each other's candidates, then we will also contest the LDK candidate, the PDK candidate for vice president, and the Assembly will never be constituted," said Hekuran Murati, a Vetëvendosje MP.

The constitutive session is scheduled to resume on Friday at 10:00 AM. (A2 Televizion)
