The Vetëvendosje Movement considers the name change of Albulena Haxhiu, who has been proposed as the Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, unacceptable. Albulena Haxhiu's legitimacy to be the Speaker is undisputed, according to MP Mimoza Kusari-Lila. She added that Albulena Haxhiu is the woman with the most votes in the February elections.
"The ease with which the possibility of changing the candidate is being judged and assessed is unacceptable to us... Albulena Haxhiu's legitimacy to be president is undisputed," said Kusari-Lila.
Another MP from the Vetëvendosje Movement, Hekuran Murati, said that the opposition is not interested in unblocking the process. "There are some contradictions, some paradoxes regarding the behavior of the opposition MPs. They are totally not interested in unblocking the process," he said.
Meanwhile, the elected MP of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Mefail Bajqinovci, after the fifth failure to constitute the Assembly, said that this is not being done intentionally.
He said that the opposition should respect the constitution and vote for the candidate.
In her fifth attempt to be elected speaker of parliament, Haxhiu received only 57 votes in favor from LVV and the communities, 46 against from PDK, LDK and AAK, and three Nisma MPs abstained.
The constitutive session is expected to continue on Friday at 10:00 AM. (A2 Televizion)
