Prime Minister Albin Kurti insists that he will form the next government alone, together with the two smaller parties, Guxo and Alternativa, without cooperation with any of the major Albanian parties. The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement made these statements during his stay in Gjilan, adding that they are waiting for the certification of the results by the Central Election Commission before taking the necessary next steps.
"The situation has not changed for us to have different positions regarding our opponents. A hybrid war has been waged against our government and against the Vetevendosje Movement, but we have emerged victorious and the victor must and will form the government," Kurti said.
Political experts say that Kurti can form a government, but it will be a minority and powerless one. The government can only be formed with new approaches from a certain MP so that the Vetëvendosje Movement reaches the 61 votes required to form the institutions.
"Self-determination can be formed with certain amendments and certain borrowings, but it will be a minority government and a fragile temporary government that cannot withstand and face the demands of the time, the challenges, but also the challenges of Parliament itself," said Professor Mazllum Baraliu.
At a time of many geopolitical changes, political parties are being asked to cooperate for a broad coalition for the sake of Kosovo's interests.
"A joint government, a broad, broad-based coalition would be the only best solution and a strengthening of our voice but also of our stance towards the external and internal challenges that may come our way," emphasizes Baraliu.
The counting process is nearing its end, with final results expected to be announced this week before possible appeals and final certification are opened. (A2 Televizion)
