Vetevendosje's political game, no votes, uses technical scenarios to

Monday's session, which began with a minute of silence to honor Pope Francis, who died today, quickly showed that it will still take time to constitute the Kosovo Assembly that emerged from the February 9 elections.

After Glauk Konjufca announced that his party still has a candidate for Speaker of the Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, calling for a political agreement between the parties to overcome the impasse, the chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, interrupted the session, saying that it would continue tomorrow.

Dehar's action in not allowing a vote was criticized as arbitrary.

The agenda of the constitutive session is predetermined and cannot be changed or bypassed. The chairman of the constitutive session acted arbitrarily and in violation of constitutional obligations by interrupting the session without allowing the voting to take place. The voting of the deputies cannot be prejudiced based on statements in the media. This is an attempt to block the constitution of the Assembly”, said Albert Krasniqi from Demokraci Plus.

But, the other VV MP, Hekuran Murati, unlike Konjufca, took a different line.

He said that other parties today continued their "blocking tactics," since according to his interpretation, everyone should vote for the first party's candidate.

In their reactions, PDK, LDK and AAK accused VV of usurping and blocking the Assembly, while insisting that VV should change the name of the candidate (Albulena Haxhiut).

PDK leader Memli Krasniqi ruled out an agreement for the head of parliament, saying that he is chosen by the one with the majority.

The Vice President of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Hykmete Bajrami, said that the deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement are the "real blockers" of the constitution of the Assembly.

She said after the adjournment of the constitutive session that they are not obligated to vote for the candidate proposed by the first party, as Hekuran Murati of LVV said.

Regardless, the first party that has the right to propose a candidate for speaker of parliament sent mixed messages to the session. Konjufca with a constructive proposal, while Murati with the stance that they will not give up on the proposed candidate.

In any case, it remains to be seen from further actions whether Konjufca or Murat conveyed Kurti's correct position. (A2 Televizion)
