The Vetëvendosje Movement has filed a complaint with the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel, requesting a recount of the postal vote.
On Monday afternoon, shortly before the deadline, Vetëvendosje filed a 20-page complaint against the vote, accusing the Democratic League of Kosovo of organizing and manipulating the postal votes.
Vetëvendosje representatives say that votes were cast on behalf of other people, and this is distinguishable because the color and pen used are the same, as is the date the envelopes were sent.
“From the voter registration phase, where many voters, hundreds of voters, were registered with only one phone number, to filling out the ballots, their sending was a complete manipulation, a criminal organization, by people connected to the LDK and engaged by the LDK,” Blerim Sallahu from the Vetëvendosje Movement told A2 CNN.
Likewise, the votes of several LDK parliamentary candidates who received thousands of votes in postal voting but fewer in polling centers in Kosovo and at embassies were cited as justifications for manipulation.
"We have initially requested from the ECAP to cancel 18,933 contaminated LDK votes that came in a manipulated form; We have requested a re-run of the postal vote and; We have requested that candidates who received disproportionately more votes by mail than at polling stations in Kosovo be removed from the list", added Sallahu.
In addition to the Vetëvendosje Movement, the ECAP has confirmed that it has also received an appeal against the final result from the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
The ECAP, according to the law, must issue a decision on the appeal within 96 hours of its submission. If the party is dissatisfied, it can appeal to the Supreme Court. (A2 Televizion)
