Efforts to constitute the Kosovo Assembly, here is the move that Vjosa Osmani will undertake

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, will begin consultations with political parties in an effort to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo.

This was confirmed by the media advisor to the presidency, Bekim Kupina.

"President Osmani will begin a series of consultations on the issue of the constitution of the Assembly from May 15. Invitations have already been sent for the first meetings and we are awaiting confirmations," said Kupina.

On May 11, for the fourteenth time in a row, MPs failed to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo.

While other political parties do not support the election of Albulena Haxhiu as Speaker of the Parliament, the Vetevendosje Movement, which won the elections, continues to insist that it will not propose another name for Speaker of the Parliament.

Every time Haxhiu's name was put to the vote, he did not receive the necessary votes to be elected to this position.

Days ago, the chairman of the constitutive session, Avni Dehari, proposed that the speaker of parliament be elected through a secret ballot. But even for this process, the necessary votes were not secured in previous sessions and the process has stalled.

On May 11, after the recent failure to constitute the Assembly, Donika Gërvalla, Vetëvendosje MP and acting Foreign Minister, did not clearly indicate whether they would respond to the president's invitation.

Gërvalla stated that "we must receive the invitation and see what it contains and what it calls us to."

Other parties, including PDK, LDK, and AAK, have said they are open to participating in a meeting with the president.

Meanwhile, on May 12, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) submitted the issue of the secret ballot for the Speaker of the Assembly to the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.

Time Kadrijaj from this political entity said that they have sent to the "Constitutional Court for interpretation the change in voting in the middle of the procedures for electing the speaker of parliament."

The request was also supported by deputies from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK).

While Vetëvendosje, as the first party to emerge from the February 9 elections, insists that secret voting is legal and constitutional, other parties including PDK, LDK and AAK have opposed such a thing./ REL (A2 Televizion)
