Strengthening bilateral cooperation, securing classified information, improving institutional capacities and supporting Euro-Atlantic integration."

Three agreements between Kosovo and the United Kingdom were approved at today's government meeting. Acting Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, said that the first agreement is for the transfer of convicted persons.

"The purpose of this agreement is to further improve mutual cooperation in the field of justice, the establishment of justice and the social rehabilitation of convicted persons, by enabling the execution of criminal sanctions in the state of permanent residence of the convicted person. This agreement regulates the execution of judicial decisions through the transfer of the convicted person in cases where a citizen of the administering state is serving a sentence in the sentencing state and requests transfer to the administering state for the purpose of social rehabilitation."

The second agreement approved is the initiative for an agreement on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters between Kosovo and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the third agreement is on extradition, which Haxhiu said is based on Kosovo's commitment to developing a European partnership.
