The Kosovo Assembly will attempt to convene for the third time this Saturday, after two failed attempts, where the opposition has refused to vote on the report of the Mandates Verification Commission in the absence of the resignation of Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the government cabinet.
The session, which was scheduled to start at 12:00, is expected to start later after its chair, Avni Dehari from the Vetëvendosje Movement, invited political parties for consultation, with the aim of finding a solution to the situation.
According to LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku, the chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, should respect the scenario for the session prepared by the Assembly Secretariat, and not that of his party, LVV.
After the April 17 session, LDK and PDK distributed a script of the session, which stated that the report of the Commission for the Verification of Mandates should be put to a vote again, which did not happen.
The LDK leader said that it is "in the national interest for institutions to be formed." Abdixhiku stated that he is not asking for the state to remain without a prime minister, but Albin Kurti must choose whether he wants to be an MP or the acting prime minister.
"We are not saying that the Government should remain without a prime minister, but it should choose either a deputy or a prime minister," he said.
PDK Chairman Memli Krasniqi, who responded positively to Dehar's invitation for today's consultative meeting, said that his political force is ready to provide direction to the constitution of the bodies.
" I want to tell you very clearly that we are here to constitute the Assembly and then to give direction to the constitution of other bodies as they emerged from the elections... I invite the deputies to be in the hall to vote..." , said the PDK leader. (A2 Televizion)
