The political crisis in Kosovo continues, the opposition blames Kurti: He is isolating the country  

For the 33rd time, Kosovo MPs have failed to constitute the assembly. The chairman of the session, Avni Dehari, started the session by requesting names for the committee, which was not granted by PDK, LDK, AAK, and then the committee was put to a vote, which received only 51 votes in favor, one against, and no abstentions.

This caused the session to be adjourned to continue on June 19, at 10:00 a.m. All extensions of the constitutive session so far have failed, as the Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo and Alternativa have failed to secure sufficient votes to elect a new Speaker of the Assembly.

The constitutive session must be continued every forty-eight hours until the new composition of the Assembly is confirmed.

The Vice President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Vlora Çitaku, said that the country is headed by a departing prime minister who has isolated Kosovo. After the failure of the constitutive session, Çitaku said that it is the last moment for the Vetëvendosje Movement to reflect.

Vetevendosje Movement MP Albulena Haxhiu, after the end of the session, said that the non-voting by other political parties is a politically and legally irresponsible act, a violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. Haxhiu said that everything will be resolved if political parties decide to carry out "their duties".

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, stressed that the ongoing blockade as a result of the stubbornness of the Vetëvendosje Movement is harmful to Kosovo's position.

The leader of the Social Democratic Initiative, Fatmir Limaj, called on political parties to put aside their personal egos and talk about a possible agreement on building institutions. He said that if the Initiative had more MPs, the Parliament would already be unblocked.

The parliamentary group of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has submitted for interpretation to the Constitutional Court the secret ballot method for the Speaker by the Vetëvendosje Movement, Guxo and Alternativa. The constitutive session should continue to be held every forty-eight hours until the new composition of the Assembly is confirmed.  (A2 Televizion)
