Albanian journalist living and working in Turkey, Sokol Brahaj, revealed in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN that in the event of the creation of the Bektashi state in Albania, then one of the replacements for "Baba Mondi" will be a Turkish citizen.
"The Albanian state is not called Bektashi, but it is called the state of the Bektashi order. And if this is to be realized in Albania, which can be realized, there is no problem. If it happens, after Baba Mondi, the next Baba, the second, third or fourth president, is automatically a Turkish citizen, since the number of Bektashis is in today's Turkey. And for this, as the work of the Pope, we have it from Argentina, from America," Brahaj said in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN.
He further stated that Turkish-Albanian relations will in no way be affected by the creation of this state and that the Bektashis living in modern Turkey have welcomed this idea as they want to have a spiritual and official leader of their own.
"For this politically, Turkey, if such a project is developed in Tirana, then this will not be a negative thing for Turkish-Albanian relations. Turkish-Albanian relations have been good, will be and I do not believe that this will affect. But we also have some things, that in Turkey they are divided into Bektashi and Alevis and these are in an association here. No rights have been given to the Bektashis in modern Turkey, and for this aspect the Bektashi Fathers want the Bektashi state to become, at least to have a spiritual and official leader there. While the Alevis linked to Iran do not want the Bektashi state, as they claim that Bektashism is divided", declared Brahaj in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli on A2 CNN. (A2 Televizion)
