Talking to students of the "Petro Nini Luarasi" secondary school in Tirana, the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, said that since September, security in schools is being raised to another level. He further spoke about the need to create an alliance with students and teachers, to face the negative phenomena that threaten young people.
"Your school is in the center of Tirana and has connections with highly frequented areas, which are often the source of phenomena that worry your parents. Our task is to guarantee that whether on the street when you come, whether in the bars you frequent or other public environments, we increase control. For us to do the work better, we need an alliance and your cooperation. You, through the security officer, teachers, etc., can share with us data to take the security package that we have initiated to the next level. Any information you give us is very useful", said Minister Balla.
All central and local institutions will be engaged to do the task.
"The fight against drug dealers can be won if we have more information. Cases of people who tell you to go buy here, go buy there, you tell us and then the police take measures to identify and enforce the law. I received messages from students and parents and the police intervened in time ," said Minister Balla.
The students affirmed that the measures taken are sensible, starting from the security perimeter, the removal of street vendors near the school, etc., but what is required next is the consolidation of these results.
The Local Director of the Tirana Police, Tonin Vocaj, said that the presence of patrols will be increased in the areas where learning takes place, and contacts will be maintained with the teaching staff, students, parents or security officers. (A2 Televizion)
