Prime Minister Edi Rama said that the specialists of the Israeli hospital "Sheba Medical Center", with whom they will collaborate on the modernization of the Oncology Hospital, are doing this not for personal gain, but because of the help that Albanians provided to Jews during the Holocaust.
"The friends from Israel have no interest here. They are not here to gain anything, neither money, nor reputation, nor any other favor from Albania. They are here to support us and as you heard from Joel's words and as I have heard, to return to the Albanian people, in their field, a moral debt, for what the Albanian people did for the Jews during World War II," Rama said to the hospital doctors during the presentation of the project.
"And this may sound too good to be true to many who do not know the Jewish people, this may seem rhetorical to many who have no idea what the Holocaust means to the Jews and what the help of everyone at that time means, even a single Jew, but for all those who know what depth it has in the soul of the people of Israel and the special place the pain of the Holocaust has in the minds of the people of Israel and all that little solidarity that the Jews found while the overwhelming majority treated them like cannon fodder, it is absolutely so and only so."
Rama added that the goal is to strengthen the capacities of the oncology service, increase standards and bring a modern solution to citizens. "We will make the QSUT a center of technological excellence in the next 5 years," Rama said. (A2 Televizion)
