A massive fire has engulfed Mount Shpirag in the city of Berat today.
The flames have spread rapidly over a significant area of bushes, vegetation and pine trees, putting the surrounding area at risk, writes A2.
More than 30 fire engines and dozens of MZSH forces are engaged in the fire extinguishing operation, but the intervention is difficult due to the rugged mountainous terrain and the wind that favors the spread of flames.
Additional forces have been requested from neighboring districts to deal with the situation, while there are no reports of homes or lives being endangered so far.
The fire on Mount Shpirag is another alarm about the fire situation in the country during the summer season. (A2 Televizion)
