Over 1,200 police officers are on the ground today to ensure the smooth running of the national protest called by the Democratic Party, which will culminate with a speech by Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha in front of the Prime Minister's Office.

A2 CNN journalist, Xhensila Kodra, reports that unlike previous protests where the first line of the police cordon in front of the Prime Minister's Office was made up of female officers, this time there is an increased presence of male officers.

In front of the prime minister's office are law enforcement officers and officers from the "Eagle" unit who have created cordons and are equipped with gas countermeasures.

FNSH forces are already on standby at the side and rear of the Prime Minister's Office, and will intervene only in the event of an order from superiors, if there is an escalation of the situation and clashes with protesters.

The Director of Tirana Police, Elton Alushi, has arrived on the scene and is overseeing all the measures taken, which have been in effect since 10:00 am.

From this time on, no vehicles were allowed to park on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, and then from 2:00 p.m., traffic was also blocked. (A2 Televizion)
