Snow "grips" the southeast, two isolated villages, traffic problems

Snowfall has covered the southeast of the country until the early hours of this morning. In some areas, the thickness of the snow has reached 25 cm, while in the mountainous areas the temperatures vary from -5 to minus 9 degrees Celsius. Two villages are isolated due to falling rocks, while energy problems have been encountered in the villages of Kolonje.

There are no traffic problems on the national roads, as well as on the Korçë-Dardë, Korçë-Voskopojë axes, the roads are passable, but the authorities advise drivers to use winter tires, while the circulation of minibuses is prohibited at the tourist point of Darë.

The Shtylle - Vithkuq road axis presents problems due to the thickness of the snow, especially at the top of Mashkullore where the thickness of the snow has reached 25 cm.

In the village roads of all mountain areas at altitudes above 1000 meters, it is recommended to use chains, this is also due to the presence of ice as the temperatures in these areas vary from -5 to -9 degrees Celsius.

Dushar and Zerec villages in the municipality of Maliqi are isolated due to the outflow of the stream and the fall of the rocks.

Crossing with chains is done in all the villages of Upper Devolli as it is also done in the villages of the mountain administrative units of Pogradec, Dardhas, Velçan, Proptisht and Trebinje.

During the day, there were problems with electricity only in the villages of the Çlirim administrative unit in the municipality of Kolonje, while in other villages of the southeast there were occasional power outages.
