Taulant Balla presents the new head of the Police Supervision Agency

Florjan Sulejmani has been elected to head the Police Supervision Agency, after the departure of the former head, Ardi Veliu. Sulejmani was introduced by Interior Minister Taulant Balla, in a press conference.

Among other things, Minister Balla stated that the new direction should advance the self-cleaning of the State Police and the vetting of senior leaders.

"Self-purification of the State Police is the primary mission of my mandate as Minister of the Interior. The State Police must be a sound, clean, reliable and strong organization in fighting illegality in general, and organized crime and trafficking in particular."

Sulejmani has 18 years of work experience.

We recall that his predecessor resigned from office in October. Unofficial sources informed A2 CNN that Veliu had communicated to his subordinates that he would no longer be in charge of the Agency.

He was appointed to this post in September 2022, after being relieved of his duties as Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Energy. Ardi Veliu also held the position of head of the State Police in the period February 5, 2018 - October 5, 2021. (A2 Televizion)
