Christian believers across the country celebrate Easter today, one of the most important holidays of the Christian faith, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and All Albania, His Beatitude Joan Pelushi, in his message, said that Easter is the fundamental truth of faith and life. He emphasized that the resurrection of Christ brings joy to all people, as it symbolizes the defeat of death – the common enemy of humanity.
In his message, Archbishop Joan also commemorated the passing of Archbishop Anastasios, emphasizing that he now intercedes for the faithful before God and that his spiritual legacy continues to live on.
“Let us forgive one another in everything, so that we may cry out with a pure heart: 'Christ is risen.' Happy Easter for many years to come,” he said.
Congratulations on the holiday were also conveyed by Archbishop Gjergj Meta, president of the Episcopal Conference of Albania, who noted that this year Easter is celebrated simultaneously by all Christians - Catholics, Orthodox and Evangelicals.
He called this coincidence a beautiful occasion for unity and shared joy, calling for people themselves to be "Easter in their lives," to bring more hope, justice, and love to society. (A2 Televizion)
