New generals of the Armed Forces are promoted, including a woman

The Armed Forces are adding six more high-ranking military personnel. By decree of the President of the Republic, also Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and at the proposal of the Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Ferdinant Dimo ​​and Petrit Çuni will now hold the rank of Major General. Rear Admiral Adnand Agastra will hold the rank of Vice Admiral, while Colonels Ardian Lilo, Vehbije Kuti and Hamdi Doda will hold the major rank of Brigadier General.

Present at the ceremony held on this occasion, at the Ministry of Defense, Minister Pirro Vengu praised the contributions of each of the military personnel and emphasized the need for the Armed Forces to invest in human capacities, in the face of the challenges of the time. According to Minister Vengu: "Albania always needs generals, because the Armed Forces are increasingly called upon to special missions and consequently, whether in the military component or in the civilian component, we must be at the height of the missions and, what better way than to have experienced and professional military personnel to face these challenges".

"We have a consolidated pyramid of leaders in the Armed Forces," Minister Vengu further said, thanking President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama for this initiative.

"In conditions where over a thousand people a year aim to become part of the Armed Forces Academy, I believe that there is no better signal that shows the expectations of our people, all Albanians, who see this not as a secondary profession, but also as a career that they can contribute to, where they can also have all the benefits," - underlined the Minister of Defense, according to whom the objective is to increase the number of active forces.

"I believe that the expansion of the field of AF missions from the point of view of the military industry will give us the opportunity to promote these capacities and use them from the perspective of the interweaving between the forces and the industry", - underlined Minister Vengu. This, according to him: "will be the key, in order to transform this trust of Albanian taxpayers, into an obligation within the framework of the responsibilities we have within the Alliance and in confronting the comprehensive threats we have so that the increase in defense budgets is transformed into an economic opportunity for the country, for all Albanians".

Part of the senior leadership promotion ceremony were also the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Arben Kingji, as well as family members of the new generals. (A2 Televizion)
