The works for the expansion of the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë axis, as part of Corridor VIII, are continuing at a rapid pace. Prime Minister Edi Rama shared the news with his followers this morning on Facebook.
"Good morning and from the construction site of the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë road, Corridor VIII, which is taking shape, and where works on its expansion continue at a rapid pace, I wish you a good day," Rama writes on Facebook, alongside images from the works.
For the construction of the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë axis, part of Corridor VIII, work is being carried out in parallel in several lots. In addition to the construction of the road body, work is also being carried out on the erection of works of art, where several important works are planned along this axis. Part of the project, for this work which connects Albania with North Macedonia, but at the same time shortens the distance between the capital and the southeastern area, is also the river protection.
On January 27 of this year, works also began on the Elbasan-Rrogozhinë axis, part of Corridor VIII. Minister Balluku announced a few days ago that work has started on the first 18 kilometers, Elbasan-Papër-Ura e Grykshit, and within a few weeks it has advanced significantly.
The segment extends along the Shkumbin River valley and almost the entire axis will be on a new track, thus not creating any problems in the movement of vehicles at all times when the works will be carried out. Also, this axis will be connected to other highways that are being built, Kashar-Lekaj or the Elbasan bypass. (A2 Televizion)
