The AKU official, Martin Jorgaqi, has shown how they were informed and the process they followed until the destruction of the Albanian tangerines, which resulted in dangerous pesticides banned by the EU.

Jorgaqi said in front of journalist Loneta Progni on A2 CNN, that the exporter had tested the tangerines in Italy, but they were found to be compliant with EU standards.

He also added that of the 3 cargoes in question, determined to have high amounts of pesticides, only one was not disposed of and it is thought to have been disposed of in the Croatian state, as it may have rotted after a few days.

"There were 3 loads in the span of 12 days. Because the notification came on December 2nd, despite the fact that it was said that it came on November 29th. But on the 29th of November a very truncated information arrived, with which we had no information regarding the traceability of the product.

The name of the exporter was then disclosed to us. That was enough for us to get all the right information through the inspection bodies. It has gone to the warehouse or the exporter, all the traceability has been obtained for the farmers that he had made all the purchases.

He had also carried out product analyzes in Italy, which had come out in accordance with European rules. But still this amount was totally destroyed, in both cases. Whereas the third case has not been returned and the chances are that the product has rotted and been destroyed in the Croatian state", said Jorgaqi. (A2 Televizion)
