Gjirokastra and the minority villages of Dropulli have been the first to begin the homages and prayers in honor of the Archbishop of Albania, Anastas Janullatos, who passed away at the age of 95. Hundreds of believers are awaiting the procession with the Archbishop's body at the border crossing of Kakavija, where the first homages and prayers were held.

The procession then made brief stops on its way to Gjirokastra near the minority villages of Dropulli, where believers had come out to pay their respects.

Afterwards, a short devotional mass was held at the Orthodox Cathedral in Gjirokastra "Resurrection of Christ", where the services and honors of the occasion were held.

After these ceremonies, the procession departed for Tirana, where it is expected to arrive at the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral at around 4:00 PM, where homages will be held throughout Wednesday, and the funeral ceremony according to the divine liturgy is expected on Thursday. (A2 Televizion)
