The road leading to one of the most sought-after mountain tourist destinations, the village of Theth, is at risk of being blocked by massive rock slides in various segments of the road.
This road has not been maintained for more than a month, as the company that carried out the maintenance has had its contract terminated and the new contract is in the appeal process. One month without maintenance is enough for the road, as can be seen from the images, to become a serious hazard for all its users.
"One day we spent here, a week ago when there was a big storm, we found stones on the road and we pushed them with some people, who drove by in two cars. We ask that this road be maintained, since tourists are also coming."
"As you can see, we are taking risks every day, with the stones, with cleaning the streets."
"Kena is left every day removing stones from the road by hand, with the villagers who are here in Theth, cleaning them themselves. We are demanding the cleaning of the road, maintenance, who is responsible for this."
In addition to rocks, foreign tourists are also concerned about frost on certain segments of the road.
"This situation on this road is very difficult for me. We came here and this axis is not good at all, with stones on the road. There was also frost when we came and we lost more than two hours because we had to be careful. The road is very narrow and taking into account the stones and frost, it was a danger for us. We walked very slowly," a tourist told A2 CNN.
Thethi is already starting to become overcrowded with the many tourists who visit and the flow of traffic is increasing significantly there. But without maintenance, this road risks being closed and at the same time endangering tourists. (A2 Televizion)
