After the "Shota" prototype, Albania will produce other armored vehicles that will serve the Armed Forces within this year.
"We are in several collaborations with foreign companies and this year we believe we will produce several "Shotas". It will not be just a prototype, but a vehicle that operates in the field," said Arjeta Puca, administrator of TIMAK.
Peace in the world is fragile, so other countries have also set their sights on military equipment to be produced in Albania.
"We want to start with Albania, but we also have many requests from Germany, Poland, Ukraine and even Greece, with which we are in talks and we believe that this year we will have the first products," said Puca.
At a time when war rhetoric continues to rise, the country plans to spend 122 billion lek on modernization and 61 billion lek on military infrastructure by 2033. Some of it is expected to go to support private enterprises that will produce military equipment, writes A2 CNN.
"Of course we are a very large company, but by growing and having more liquidity we can produce even more. Part of the platform is bought. This is how other companies operate. The rest is not very difficult," said the administrator of TIMAK.
As part of the 10-year agreement on Security Cooperation and Long-Term Support between Kiev and Tirana officially signed by Prime Minister Edi Rama and President Volodymyr Zelensky in Davos, Switzerland in January, several armored vehicles will go to Ukraine.
"We have produced ambulances for Ukraine. We are also in talks for "Shota", said Puca.
The armored vehicles that are in the production process will weigh about 7 tons. They are expected to be ready for the Armed Forces by the end of the year. (A2 Televizion)
