All companies and their employees that will be part of the "Durana Tech Park" in Xhafzotaj, Durrës, will not pay tax on profits or personal income for at least 10 years. Also, enterprises in the field of technology will pay social contributions for employees of no more than 95 euros per month, writes A2 CNN.
"The Durana Technology Park brings economic development to Albania. It is a regional development pole. From Durana we expect to benefit from foreign investments, value-added production, knowledge transfer and the transformation of start-ups into genuine businesses that create employment and training opportunities," said Blendi Gonxhja, Minister, MEKI.
In addition to companies, universities, research centers, start-ups, and digital nomads can also become part of "Durana Tech Park".
"Durana is more than a park, it is a platform that supports technology, digital nomads and start-ups. This step positions Albania on the global map of innovation. So far, 50 companies have expressed interest in being part of Durana," said Elira Kokona, Director of the Albanian Investment Corporation.
Through this park, the aim is to create new opportunities for employment and professional training and to turn the Tirana-Durres highway into a regional pole of technological development.
“Durana Tech Park offers visa-free entry to the territory of Albania and a five-year residence permit for employees, with the possibility of obtaining Albanian citizenship after five years. This benefit is particularly favorable for foreign companies and digital nomads who seek a simple process and a seamless integration between work and life,” said Enkelejd Musabelliu, Deputy Minister, MEKI.
“Moreover, with living costs up to 40% lower than the EU average, Albania offers a good living opportunity for international workers, making Durana Tech Park an ideal destination for global businesses and technology professionals,” said Sokol Duma, Deputy Minister, MEKI.
The call for applications for the park's first users opened on Tuesday, and expectations are that the first winners will be confirmed by the end of April. (A2 Televizion)
