Pensioners warn of another protest, not even the spring bonus satisfies them

Pensioners have announced another protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office. On Wednesday, January 15, pensioners will gather at 10:00 again to continue their demands for pension increases. The year-end bonus of 15 thousand lek for some of them and 10 thousand lek for the rest did not satisfy their vital needs.

Likewise, the spring bonus of 10 thousand and 5 thousand remains insufficient for them. According to them, establishing a living wage would be the first step towards improving pensions in Albania, so that there would be no pension below 20 thousand new lek.

Pensioners protested throughout 2024, in several continuous protests, as the prime minister held meetings with another part of the pensioners, with the promise that the government will have special care for this category. Wednesday's protest at 10:00 will be the first for this year, but not the last according to the pensioners.
