Rama inspects the Bunavi–Kërkovë road in Vlora: Perspectives for

Prime Minister Edi Rama started this morning by inspecting the Bunavi - Kerkovë road in the Vlora region. Alongside Defense Minister Pirro Vengu, the political leader of the region Bledi Çuçi, Mayor Ermal Dredha and residents of the area, the head of government emphasized that this will give a new perspective to 7 villages in the Shushicë and Llakatund units, as well as serve the Bunavi Military Base, which will have around 500 civil emergency forces.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the necessary interventions will be made to improve the infrastructure of the buildings, so that young people can be educated in environments with optimal conditions.

"Albania has a historical, military, naval base in Vlora in history. We need to make an intervention here. We need to improve the quality here, we are doing all that work with the boarding houses and vocational schools that will become European boarding houses so that whoever brings a child, especially from the villages to a private school, has the best conditions. Now that the military personnel come here for the first months, we need to make the conditions optimal. We have the opportunity to make an investment, to improve these buildings, to cooperate with the fund, to equip them with an energy saving system", said Rama.

Residents of the surrounding villages engaged in a spontaneous conversation with the Prime Minister and presented their demands regarding infrastructure and its improvement.

Among the requests submitted by residents was the realization of a segment that connects the ring road of 7 villages, 1.1 kilometers long, which the Prime Minister promised will become a reality soon.

Excerpts from the conversation:

Rama: I will drink coffee, with or without tradition.

Citizen: We need you for many more years.

Citizen: We changed for you.

Rama: You changed parties for me. Listen, even Churchill changed parties when his homeland demanded it. You love him with world figures.

Citizen: We have been voting for one party for years.

Rama: You are something else, the right party has chosen you. The one who chose the wrong party has changed. This new party we have has those 70 and 40, and it also has the young. Do you regret switching parties?

Citizen: No, no.

Rama: It's a difficult moment of change, but then it passes.

This is the second phase of the intervention. The first part of the road, about 4 kilometers, has been completed and work is currently underway on the asphalt addition to continue this to the center of the village of Bunavi, and a branch in the center of the village.

"This is about 3 kilometers of road, providing access to this entire area, which, as we said, is an area with extraordinary agricultural potential with fantastic olive groves" - explained the Director of the Forest Reserve Dritan Agolli.

Defense Minister Pirro Vengu informed that 500 military personnel and support personnel will join the Bunavi military base, who will receive the necessary services from the residents of the area, including food with local agricultural products.

"Here is the base, this is the professional training center and the training schools for the first months of all military personnel, the famous Bunavisa base, which will be joined by a civil emergency brigade, which will be dedicated to the Vlora region. It was the only region that did not have a civil emergency brigade and practically 500 military personnel and support personnel will be permanently stationed at this base, which also makes it a place where more services are needed and we will find a way together with the municipality to be able to receive services from the residents of the area, food from the area, so that the local economy can regenerate a little." - said Minister Vengu.
