A few days after the end of the IMT action in Theth, where illegal constructions were demolished, Prime Minister Edi Rama posted a video on Facebook this afternoon with views of the tourist area.
"He died after surgery for the cancer of illegality," the head of government writes, while also encountering controversy from commentators.
The video shows Shkodra Municipality employees planting the land, as well as tourists visiting the area.
A few days ago, the Inspectorate for Protection and Control of the Territory carried out an operation in the tourist village in the north of the country, to demolish buildings built without permits. The residents strongly opposed this action, saying that they had been promised for years to develop businesses on their properties, but since they do not have the documents, they have been unable to apply for permits.
The situation on the ground escalated several times, even to the point of throwing Molotov cocktails at the police stations, while the police were forced to protect the IKMT employees with weapons so that they could carry out their work.
Opposition MPs also came to the defense of the residents of Thethi, clashing with the police, while Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted by saying that he had never promised illegal construction in the area.
Theth is one of the most visited tourist villages in the north of the country. The Theth-Valbona pass is one of the most frequented trails by climbers and mountaineering enthusiasts. (A2 Televizion)
