The Gener 2 company has considered today's claims that the road condition on the Vlora Bypass is problematic or could be a source of car accidents to be unfounded.
"The only truth is that, as has been announced several times before, the road is currently under construction and that it is blocked to vehicle traffic until the works are fully completed.
Meanwhile, the company has strictly implemented all safety measures, including placing the necessary signage along the road, according to all traffic norms and rules.
We emphasize that for the implementation of these works, permission has been obtained for the temporary closure of the road from the Albanian Road Authority and the State Police, applying the approved traffic management plan.
We clarify that the traffic management plan includes the placement of signs, starting from the beginning of the road at km 0 and up to Km 10+450, where the new jersey blockade has also been established and only one access has been left free for construction site vehicles, which is managed by flagmen during the day and blocked at night.
We emphasize that at km 15 the road is completely closed on both sides and there is the presence of two flagmen, who stand to give the relevant signals.
Also, as can be easily seen on the ground, starting from km 28 to km 19+400, there are signs warning of road works being carried out and temporary road closures.
At km 19+400, the road is closed to new jersey, leaving only one access for construction site vehicles, which is managed by flagmen during the day and closed at night.
Also, at km 15 from this direction, the road, as warned by the signs along it, is completely blocked.
We would like to inform you that any citizen who does not respect the signs and does not obey the flagmen will continue on the road until km 15 and then will be forced to turn back due to the total road blockage.
Any vehicle that may have passed through the area where the works are being carried out has, at best, ignored the warning signs, or at worst, jumped over the barrier.
Meanwhile, we inform citizens that road works are being carried out within all standards and in accordance with all safety conditions, and very soon the Vlora Bypass will be fully accessible.
"The planned date for the completion of the remaining works is April 10, 2025," explains Gener 2. (A2 Televizion)
