Increase in measles cases, doctor appeals for child vaccination: It does not

Measles is one of the most contagious diseases and can cause serious health consequences, such as pneumonia, encephalopathy and, in extreme cases, loss of life. After the increase in measles cases in our country, but also throughout Europe, the Ministry of Health has called for the vaccination of children. Through a video shared by the Minister of Health Albana Koçiu, she emphasizes that measles is a contagious disease that can have serious consequences for children's health and the vaccine is the only sure shield to prevent it.

"Vaccination saves lives! Experts from the Institute of Public Health appeal for the importance of getting vaccinated against measles, a contagious disease that can have serious consequences for children's health. The vaccine is the only safe and effective shield to prevent the spread of measles and to protect not only our children, but also the community. Parents, make sure your children are vaccinated on time. Don't delay!", writes Koçiu.

Meanwhile, in the video, Public Health expert Rovena Daja stated that vaccination coverage above 95% is needed to avoid measles outbreaks. According to her, the measles vaccine is safe, effective and does not cause autism, refuting the erroneous theories circulating about it.

"Measles is one of the most contagious diseases. Vaccination coverage above 95% is needed to avoid outbreaks. The increased cases of measles in Albania and Europe are related to the lack of vaccination. Parents refuse to vaccinate their children due to theories of authorization. These are wrong theories and have been refuted by all studies around the world. The measles rubella vaccine is safe, does not cause autism and is very effective."

The public health expert calls for the vaccination of children, emphasizing that the consequences of this disease can lead to loss of life.

"Vaccination of your children is very contagious, it causes pneumonia, encephalopathy and can even lead to death. The vaccine is administered in two doses; the first at the age of 1 and the second at the age of 5. Vaccinate your children! Vaccinate with faith!" (A2 Televizion)
