In the Port of Durrës, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Italian company Fincantieri and the Albanian company "KAYO", which marks the start of cooperation for the joint venture in the naval military industry, was signed today. The Letter of Intent for the transfer of the military patrol ship "Libra" to the use of the Albanian Naval Force was also signed.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Defense Minister Pirro Vengu, visited the ship Libra and participated in the signing of cooperation documents.
The Prime Minister said that this act is proof of friendship and cooperation between the countries, which, according to him, is entering a new era, producing new energies.
While thanking his Italian friends, Prime Minister Rama said that the relationship with friendly Italy through this cooperation becomes even more important, even more strategic and more connected to the common interests of both countries, our two nations.
"Of course, this ship is a very visible and tangible proof of all that we are doing together and I want to assure everyone that what we are doing together is much more than this ship and it is much more than the material aspect because we are really working to create an important synergy between these two sides of the Adriatic and to bring together new ideas and new energies, to move forward and to increasingly transform this very ancient friendship into something good for both our peoples and for both our countries."
And as the minister, my good friend and I am honored for his friendship, said, we live in fairly new times and with challenges that we could not have imagined until a few years ago.
And for this, it is very clear to everyone that we must unite everything that is possible to unite and where it does not matter much whether you are big or small, but it is important to add something and thus I believe that this relationship with Italy becomes even more important, even more strategic, even more connected to the common interests of both countries, of our two nations.
I would like to especially thank the entire military team that came from Italy for this demonstration of great generosity, of great friendship, of deep respect; I would especially like to thank the head of the military side for the hospitality and for the beautiful memory that I will take with me of the 'jewel' nearby, the Italian navy ship. It is not every day that you have such an opportunity and thank you, Guido, for showing me another Italian museum, but this time at sea and not on land. It is truly an extraordinary pleasure and I want to hope that our military, that the head of the Albanian navy forces are happy.
