At a time when SPAK has been at the center of criticism, mainly from the majority for the frequent and "indiscriminate" use of the security measure, "Arrest in prison", the Special Prosecution Office has attempted to clarify itself by publishing some figures.
In a post on social media, SPAK provides comprehensive information on security measures for various criminal offenses throughout 2024.
SPAK announces that in 2024, security measures were issued for a total of 629 people, of which the measure of "prison arrest" was imposed on 236 people.
"From the total value: For Corruption, the measure "prison arrest" accounts for 5.1% of the measures. For Organized Crime, the security measure "prison arrest" accounts for 30.84% of the total security measures registered", the Special Prosecution Office informs.
Meanwhile, 10% of security measures were issued for other crimes by special prosecutors.
The Special Prosecution Office responded to the criticisms directed at them with some statistics on February 19. SPAK published a balance sheet for 2024, which shows that only 30% of the people being investigated by them are in "prison arrest" security measure. (A2 Televizion)
