A resident of Theth, Nik Guri, has warned that if any other builder wants to go and build where the existing buildings were demolished, they should think carefully.
Guri made the comments in a live broadcast for the show 'Debat' with journalist Alba Alishani on A2 CNN, where he said that Serbia and Turkey have not been able to enter Dukagjin, let alone anyone else, to build.
Guri also said that the buildings that IKMT demolished were on their land, despite the fact that, according to him, the Albanian state did not recognize the old documentation.
"Forgive God that they don't know what they're doing. But even when the knife goes to the bone, something has to be done. Our plan is to sit down at the table, to set the rules with the Church Assembly, with the Church and the authorities. Don't let anyone fool you that there is no one here who enters Dukagjin and takes land except the people of Dukagjin."
The Serbs and Turks did not enter here. In 1920, the villagers gathered and Frati said do not sell the land in Theth. Those who came to buy the land are our fellow villagers from Dukagjini, no one came from outside Dukagjini. They are our own people. We have done the illegal constructions without the permission of the state, but with my permission, because we are on our own land.
Everyone is on their own lands. We have old land titles, but the Albanian state does not recognize them. It has also issued this Mountain Package, but with this Mountain Package, maybe someone will think of coming here... Here they call it Dukagjin. The Kanun is a sacred Constitution for us", said Guri among other things. (A2 Televizion)
