President Bajram Begaj says he is shocked by the loss of young lives and wishes the injured a speedy recovery, writes A2.
"My sincere condolences go to the families who lost their loved ones and to all the neighboring people of North Macedonia. My prayers and those of the Albanian people go to the injured, that they find a speedy recovery and that the pain in the city of Kocani does not worsen," said Begaj.
Prime Minister Edi Rama writes that he is speechless by this tragedy and has expressed his condolences to his counterpart from North Macedonia: "I am speechless and pray that the injured recover and that the families of the victims find the strength to cope with their inconsolable loss. I also convey my condolences to Prime Minister Mickovski and the authorities of the neighboring country on behalf of Albania and Albanians, expressing our readiness for whatever assistance may be necessary."
A message of condolence was also shared by the Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali: "Sad news about the terrible tragedy in Kocani, North Macedonia, where several dozen girls and boys lost their lives. I stand with the families who lost their loved ones. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Strength and courage to the people and authorities of North Macedonia in facing this great disaster."
Even the leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, wrote in a post on social media that he is shocked and expresses his condolences to the families of the victims: "A grave tragedy has occurred in a friendly country. I express my deepest condolences and those of the Democratic Party to the families of the victims, as well as our solidarity with the local and central authorities of North Macedonia. We also pray for a speedy and full recovery for those injured in this terrible tragedy."
