Choose your professions, registrations for vocational education start in July,

In July, registration for vocational education officially opens, a concrete opportunity for young people seeking to build a secure and fast career in the labor market.

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, declares that over 2,500 study scholarships, worth up to 7,320 lek per month, will be awarded this year to students attending vocational schools across the country.

Minister Gonxha emphasized that vocational education has become an important pillar for the development of the national economy and for the preparation of a workforce that adapts to the real demands of the market.

Through the scholarship system, the government aims not only to encourage more young people towards vocational education, but also to specifically support those who are most in need or who show excellent results.

"We support girls who choose to pursue vocational education, we support students who choose priority branches for the economy, those that are in demand today and in the future in the labor market. We help students who come from families in need, those who live more than 5 kilometers from school, as well as young people with disabilities or who belong to special groups. Moreover, we honor and encourage excellent students, those who have graduated with an average of over 9", said the minister.

Vocational education is increasingly gaining ground as a realistic and useful alternative for young Albanians. It is closely linked to the needs of the labor market, offering concrete and immediate skills for employment in fields such as technology, agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, construction, and technical services.

Through this scholarship program, the government aims to elevate the role of vocational education, make it more accessible, fairer, and oriented towards the knowledge economy and innovation.

Vocational education encompasses a diverse range of fields of study, each offering unique opportunities for students to develop specialized skills and pursue rewarding careers.

To best respond to the demands of the new era in which vocational education in Albania has entered, but also to a continuous demand from business, the government has taken the initiative to implement the dual system, relying on best international practices.

A tracking system conducted by the National Employment Agency on students studying in vocational secondary schools found that nearly 60% of total graduates were employed 1 year after graduation.

The students themselves say that vocational education is a profession that generates income even before completing their studies. By completing vocational education, any young person can easily find a job even without a university degree.

The public vocational education and training system consists of 41 institutions, of which 31 are vocational schools and 10 training centers that offer vocational qualifications and 10 training centers that offer secondary and post-secondary and short-term vocational qualifications, for all ages.

Public vocational secondary education institutions offer 22 study programs and 83 specialization options. (A2 Televizion)
