The final list of farmers who will benefit from funds in agriculture has been announced.
There are over 14,000 farmers who will receive subsidies from the National Scheme in agriculture, from over 15,000 applications that passed the first stage of selection. Meanwhile, more than 52 thousand other farmers are beneficiaries of excise-free oil.
But how much money will each farmer receive on average, to understand the real help given through the national scheme for agriculture?
In total, for this year, about 67 thousand farmers are beneficiaries, while the fund made available is about 32 million euros. According to calculations, it amounts to 477 euros per farmer.
An insufficient amount to help farmers and the sector, which today is not in its best days.
The weight of agriculture in the economy has been shrinking over the years.
However, this sector still makes the highest contribution, reaching 16.2% of the Gross Domestic Product, employs 33% of the total labor force in the country, while it benefits from only 1% of the total bank credit, being underfinanced. This is because it is considered a business exposed to many risks, such as floods or hail that damages production.
Agriculture has already entered a downward cycle, influenced on the one hand by the reduction of the village population from internal and external emigration and the lack of state subsidies, on the other hand, which have worsened the climate in the sector, especially in livestock.
Last year, production in the agricultural sector decreased by 0.69%. This happened at a time when the economy grew by 3.5%, which proves that the sector has already been left in free fall. (A2 Televizion)
