Foreign investments, one of the main sources of employment and foreign currency that enters the country, has increased this year.
Data show that at the end of September, these foreign exchange flows exceeded 1.1 billion euros, the highest level in recent years.
But as is often said, the devil is in the details. And for this period, the details that characterized the foreign investments were two.
First, most foreign investments have been reinvestments. But they are also partly influenced by the exchange rate. While the new capital injected into the Albanian economy has been decreasing in the third quarter of this year, by 17%.
But which are the sectors where most foreign investments have gone?
The real estate market is more interesting and this is the second detail of foreign investments for this year. More than 20% of the total was invested in the purchase of apartments or properties, followed by financial intermediation, hydrocarbons, energy, etc.
It is mainly the coast that has aroused the interest of foreigners to buy apartments, a demand that has significantly increased prices.
Investments in real estate total for this year 263 million euros, with an increase of 18.5% compared to the previous year.
